Development of national staff capable of building up new business overseas

Issue課題・背景

Company D had developed business overseas in responding to needs of its customers and partners. Consequently, it had developed the organization of its overseas bases at an early stage. However, the following problem arose because the focus for a long time had been solely on business operations with existing Japanese customers. Despite having operational leaders, the company had failed to develop any leaders, executives, capable of building up new business.
Therefore, Company D decided to develop initiatives that attempt to build up new business with strong local roots conceived by national staff at the same time as development of executive human resources.

    Previously, the national staff themselves did not have the mindset of “new business development” since the work required for national staff had been “operational quality”. The first challenge they set was to change the situation.

    The plan was to build up know-how and eventually carry out action leaning at bases throughout the world.
